Program Synopsis
A future Earth in 2112AD: Continents are sunk under the sea; remnants of land barely sustain scattered civilizations. The orphan boy MANGCHI, a rambunctious pre-adolescent, yearns to leave his home and discover other worlds.
One day, a small plane carrying the teen-aged PRINCESS POPLAR, who’s being pursued by the soldiers of the treacherous GENERAL MOONK, crashes onto Candlestick Island. MANGCHI rescues the PRINCESS just in time, using his trademark vehicle – a cleverly conceived, solar-powered flying bicycle.
The duo start out on a heroic journey to return the princess to her kingdom and to her father. Along the way, they face a greedy bandit chief, armies of soldiers, a villainous GENERAL MOONK. MANGCHI eventually triumphs by using the mystical art of Great Echo, an all-powerful “force from within” which wards off evil and enemy attacks. Thanks to MANGCHI, the PRINCESS and her father are reunited.
